About qa on request

Our mission is to help creative software development teams
deliver quality products on time and on budget.

Our team

Simon Papineau

Simon is the founder of qa on request. He previously worked at Gameloft, Frima Studio and WE_ARE. He loves good food and travelling. He's also known to buy all of the latest tech gadgets on Kickstarter.

Éric Bissonnette

Eric has worked at almost every video game company in Montreal for the last 14 years. In his free time, he enjoys playing chess, and video games. An avid fan of the Canadiens de Montréal, he holds the office record for most bugs reported in a day with 80.

Jeff Fogel

In testing since 2007, Jeff has lead a variety of software projects, working with both onshore and offshore teams. Passionate about video games, Jeff can best be described as cool, calm and collected.

Steve Spencer

Steve is a night owl and does some of his best work between midnight and 4am. As such, we rarely see him around the office. However he cares about a job well done so we're happy to leverage his flexible schedule.

Kevin

Kevin Hélias

Kevin is a foodie and a fan of cooking using sous-vide. He loves game design and comics. Kevin has the discipline to work out at the gym and likes Harvey’s hamburgers. He also is our internal IT specialist.

Shae Tanasychuk

Shae hails from the great province of Manitoba. After working at EA in Vancouver, he drove across the country to establish himself in Montreal.

LP_Futurama

Louis-Philip Grenier

LP is a cartoon artist, video game developer and a member of La Guilde des développeurs de jeux vidéo indépendants du Québec. He has 2 kids, 2 horses, and sits on the parents committee of his son’s school.

Nick Natale

Aside from software testing, Nick loves soccer, video games and Game of Thrones. True story: when we hired him we thought his name was Nick Targaryen, because that's what his email said.

These are just some of the fun and talented professionals that make up our team.

Our values

To guide us in our every day actions, we’ve adopted a set of core values that we apply in our work and our partnerships. We proudly list them here because we want you to know who you are dealing with and what you can expect when working with us.

  • icon-values01
    Enchantment

We strive for both our partners and team members to be enchanted by their interactions with us.

  • icon-values02
    Honesty

Honesty for us is about transparency and accountability, for yourself, your colleagues and your partners.

  • icon-values03
    Fun

You've never seen a company that is as serious as we are about the motto "work hard, play hard."

  • icon-values04
    Flexibility

Flexibility in testing is about being context-driven. It means being scrappy and autonomous, and embracing any challenge our partners throw at us.

  • icon-values05
    Growth

As individuals and as a company, we should always aim to get better - on every level.

  • icon-values06
    Loyalty

As the great Harry Specter says: "Loyalty is a two-way street. If I'm asking for it from you, then you're getting it from me."

Our history

  • icon-list01 2012

qa on request was founded in 2012 by Simon Papineau,
who aspires to build the world's best software testing company.

  • icon-list02 2013

In 2013 we launched Crowdsourced Testing, one of the leading providers of crowdsourced software testing services. We grew 2000% that year.

  • icon-list03 2014

In 2014 we outgrew our small office in Pointe-St-Charles and moved downtown. We also launched Lean Testing, a powerful free bug tracker that was quickly adopted by thousands of companies worldwide. We grew 200% that year.

  • icon-list04 2015

In 2015 we sponsored the Software Testing World Cup and added many new international clients to our roster. We developed new service offers including usability testing and play tests for mobile games. We added test case management capability to Lean Testing, and we're on track to take over the world in 2016!

And it’s only the beginning...
